Thoughtful regeneration of brownfield industrial site.
This project was set up with the support of SW Regional Development Agency to provide regeneration and business opportunities on a disused brown-field industrial site in a disadvantaged area of Plymouth. Grainge Architects carried out overall master-planning for the site and delivery of the first construction phases.
The buildings achieved BREEAM “Very Good” environmental standard. A number of the environmental factors significantly impacted on the master-plan – eg site-wide features including ‘stoney-meadow’ (using crushed stone from site demolitions to support attractive low-fertility landscape) as part of a sustainable urban drainage strategy.
