The sporting heart of the community on the Scillies.
The new school & community sports hall on St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly was constructed as part of the new ‘Five Islands School’ development (further details of which can be seen here), but is also used extensively by the community when not being used by the school – of special value to the community given the lack of alternative indoor sporting facilities on the islands.
It accommodates four badminton courts and is configured to include full size competition basket ball court, netball, volleyball & five-a-side football. It also incorporates a viewing area and changing facilities. The hall was formally opened by HM the Queen in June 2011.
