A replacement dwelling to provide a modern three storey family home overlooking the beach at New Polzeath. The scale and positioning of the building responds to the existing context to fit in with the prominent site whilst maximising the fantastic seaviews. Each key space relates directly to the views on offer with fabulous natural lighting and sense of place. A simple palette of materials is sympathetic to the local vernacular whilst being employed in a contemporary way. The scheme was granted planning approval within 6 months of applying for planning permission, despite significant opposition.
