Awards Shortlist

Awards Shortlist

The Larkstone Water Sports Hub has been shortlisted in the Michelmores Property Awards 2024!

The project has overcome various obstacles since our initial visit to the site 10 years ago, so not only is it fantastic to see the water sports centre now offering a new home for local clubs and a destination for the community – we are also thrilled to see it shortlisted for awards under the following two categories:

  • Leisure and Tourism Project of the Year

  • Building of the Year

Constructed using robust, natural materials that will weather well over time in this exposed location, the buildings have been delivered on an undoubtedly challenging site. This comes with a multitude of rewards, including great views across Ilfracombe Harbour at the Hirst’s Verity Statue (enjoyed from the new Lime Kiln Cafe & Bar), a new sea wall, slipway, storage, and new facilities for local sport. A new outdoor seating area is underway next to the Water Sports Hub, so watch this space for updates on what will be another great spot for coffee with a view!

The project would not be possible without the collaborative effort of the team; North Devon Council, Pearce Construction, Hulley and Kirkwood, Craddys and W T Hills.

David and George are looking forward to joining members from the project team on awards night.

See the Michelmores website for a full list of the shortlisted projects.
