Site Progress & an Impressive Air Test Result of 0.4!
Fantastic to see such smooth progress on this new build home in Silverton and even better to celebrate an outstanding air test result. The house achieved 0.4 m³/(h·m²) – for context the notional Building Regulations dwelling is 5.0, with a maximum allowable of 8.0 – that’s 20x better than the minimum standard. The Passivhaus standard requires lower 0.6, putting the building comfortably under this threshold.
This brilliant result shows what can be achieved with a strong focus on detail. In this case, the combination of an intentionally simple building form and a client committed to a high-quality packaged timber-frame system made all the difference.
Right now, the protective membrane creates a bold silhouette on site, but a snapshot from the project ‘sketchbook’ shows how the design will soon be softened with a mix of larch cladding and render.
