Proposals for a high-quality development set within the grounds of a Grade II Listed farmhouse; sensitive to its historic setting and designed with low energy principles from the outset.
The layout for the site has been shaped by careful consideration of the challenging constraints and opportunities of the site and comprises new housing within a multi-courtyard plan. The scheme provides a contemporary interpretation of the existing farmstead, responding to its distinctive character through use of select materials, narrow linear forms, simple roofscapes and inward facing courtyard clusters.
This design led scheme is sensitive to the heritage and ecological constraints afforded by the site and includes a mix of dwellings that have been individually designed to respond to their position on the layout. Proposed materials seek to reflect the rural agricultural aesthetic, with detailing designed to achieve modern sustainability objectives and to create a high-quality living environment and an attractive place to live.
