Exeter Cookery School

Renovation and internal alterations to a Grade II listed building on Exeter Quay, turning a redundant two-storey warehouse into a cookery school and ancillary spaces.  Retention & celebration of historic features helped to create an exciting and vibrant space, livening up the potentially 'sterile' environment often experienced in kitchens.

Due to historic settling of the water-side ground the existing floors sloped some half-a-meter across the width of the building – not helpful to the laying out of kitchen facilities.  Hence a system of temporary levelling which would not compromise the historic building was agreed with the Conservation Officer.
