When Bridger Marine wanted a new premises for their boating business Grainge Architects were appointed to design a multipurpose building. Being sited on a Commercial Business Park adjacent to Exeter’s Historic Quay suggested a slightly different design approach to the typical Industrial Buildings. A new two storey Boatshed was conceived which derived its aesthetic from the timber cladding buildings typical of the area which had previously been the site of quayside warehouse buildings & goods yards. Bridger Marine’s business has now evolved in their new building to include not only boat servicing, a boat yard, a retail outlet and also a base for their internet sales business.
