Architects for Sports Facilities - Build your own olympic dream!

Posted on August 6, 2012

Our experience of sporting facilities has grown significantly over the last few years, and now the London 2012 Olympic Games are underway we felt it a good opportunity to briefly run through some of the sports facilities Grainge Architects have completed and how they were achieved. We have been involved with numerous projects that require additional funding from outside sources, such as Sport England, National Lottery, as well as part-applications through educational routes etc, as well as capital funded schemes.

Our team can help guide clients through the process, as well as producing rapid feasibility option-eering to best demonstrate a potential scheme to board members and funding bodies alike. Following this we can help develop a scheme to be as flexible and practical as possible, making maximum use of funding, site constraints and client requirements. Taking these schemes through planning, building regulations and onto building site construction information Grainge Architects have built up a good working knowledge of Sport England requirements as well as the technical know-how to achieve these specific requirements.

We have worked on indoor sports halls, with full Sport England spec changing rooms, changing pavilions, rugby clubhouses with changing facilities, a large gym and yoga studio, school sports and multi-use halls, outdoor fields, a rifle range, a tennis roof covering, a boat house andmulti use games areas (MUGAs).
