Fire Station & Cadets Base, Crediton

As part of the provision of the new town square for Crediton (see separate feature here) the existing 1960s fire station, which was in any case outdated and needing replacement, was relocated to this site.  The site was owned by the The Wessex Reserve Forces and Cadets Association who had an ageing training hut for cadets here.  The deal, part funded by the local authority and SWRDA, involved transfer of site ownership and provision within the new building of up-to-date facilities, including cadets training area, admin and a rifle range (running, and dictating, the full length of the building at first floor level).

The fire station itself accommodates two fire appliances and associated muster, admin and service areas.  Training facilities are shared with the WRFCA, and a training tower is also provided.
