Redrock, Topsham

Built at the turn of the last century as a captain’s house, this private residence in Topsham has been extensively refurbished and extended. One new wing replicates the style of the existing property. More extensive contemporarily styled extensions – using oak framed, dark-stained weatherboarding and generous glazing – enclose a courtyard with outside swimming pool, and on one side house new bedrooms with spectacular views of the river while the other provides garaging, games room, changing room and plant for the pool, and a bat roost.

The property is within the Topsham Conservation Area, hence development of the design involved close liaison with the council’s conservation officer.
