Extension, The Ridings, Ebford

The opening up of the back of this traditional 1980s house allowed the creation of a large single-space family living area with strong visual and physical connection to the garden.  It involved radical removal of existing walling and associated structural engineering.  The design improves overall integration of the previously unrelated elements of house, garage and garden.

Strongly formed zinc-clad roof, high-specification windows, under-floor heating all contribute to the sense of uncluttered space and crisp contemporary style.

The construction contract was negotiated with a trusted local building company which allowed close monitoring of specification and cost as the design was developed.
